Hi all

My name is Dave Cox. I'm from Melbourne originally. I'm a film maker & instructor based in San Francisco, California.

I'm wanting to put some courses together using Moodle and I understand Studyzone lets you build your online courses through a web interface. If I could set up a password protected course in studyzone then direct my students to this, that would be great.

Am I right in assuming this, or would I still need to set up Moodle on a dedicated server?

Sorry if I come off as a newbie here but I guess I am.

Today I created an account with Dropbox and installed both it's desktop and Iphone applications. Dropbox gives you storage space on it's servers to create folders and allows you syncranise between your applications and the Dropbox server.

You can also set folders to share and invite others to share them. So if you have files that are to large to email you can drop them into your dropbox folders and allow others to download them. This is one of many examples of what is now being described as Cloud Computing.

A new Iphone App called Mtouch has now been developed to allow you or your students to connect to your moodle site. Its not a free app but it might be worth a look if you have students who need mobile access to Moodle. For further information i have posted a link to the developers site. If you want to download the app just use your iphone to connect to the itunes store and search for Mtouch.

I have just downloaded a copy and was able to connect to Studyzone. I will take it for a test drive and report back.
